China Blokir LinkedIn

China back to take steps to block the site LinkedIn, a social networking site intended for professionals. This is done because the site is used as a tool for organizing protests against the government. Previously, China did the same, namely to block on the microblogging site Twitter.

The news was first reported by Renmedia mentions that LinkedIn is now also used as a platform to organize anti-government protests by activists. Similarly, as quoted by TechCrunch, Friday (02/25/2011).

According to an article in the Wall Street Journal, the demonstrators are now beginning to shift from a few social networking sites, like Twitter and LinkedIn, to organize protests as the Chinese government blocked several other sites.

Interestingly, former employees of LinkedIn, Surya Yalamanchili, shows that the reasons behind why China blocked LinkedIn is because a lot of status in LinkedIn publish it from Twitter.

LinkedIn is a social networking site oriented business. Founded in December 2002 and launched in May 2003. Most are used for networking professionals.

On January 1, 2011, LinkedIn reported that they had had more than 90 million registered users, spread over 200 countries around the world. LinkedIn is available in English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish.
