Pro-Osama Demonstrations

Hundreds of people took to the streets near the city of Pakistan, Quetta, on Friday (06/05/2011), to do homage to the leader of Al Qaeda, Osama bin Laden. They also called for holy war against the Americans, witnesses said.

The protest was organized pro-Taliban political party, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (Jui), in the southwest suburbs of Kuchlak, where the crowd shouted "Long live Osama" and burned U.S. flags. "The struggle for Muslims Osama will be remembered forever," said Abdul Qadir Looni, a senior figure Jui, in a speech in front of protesters.

"He challenged the 'biggest evil' and usurpers like America and awaken Muslims around the world. this rally we do as our tribute to him," said Looni.

Hafiz Fazal Bareach, a federal senator and former senior leader of the party, saying that Osama bin Laden who was killed by the U.S. it will create thousands of other Osama. "One of Osama has become a martyr and now thousands of Osama will be born because she creates a movement against anti-Islamic forces which do not depend on personalities," said Bareach.

"First, Americans who kill Osama and then the U.S. also staining the body," he said.

Bareach swear that jihad (holy war) will continue against U.S. and its allies.

Pakistan's largest political party, Jamaat-e-Islami, called for nationwide protests on Friday to denounce the U.S. operation that killed Osama bin Laden in the garrison town of Abbottabad inbeginning of this week . Friday is the traditional day of protest in the Muslim world, where demonstrations often occur after the main prayers.

Pakistan, on Thursday, demanding the U.S. to reduce the presence of its troops in the country until as small as possible as a result of an intensive attack and threatened to review cooperation in the case of a similar operation.
