Tripoli - Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi asked to do a cease-fire while negotiations with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). Gaddafi request was made after NATO carried out the attack on the government complex in Tripoli.
Gaddafi sent a ceasefire request by the Libyan national television broadcast. While the attack which happened on Saturday morning local time, targeted on Libyan national television station, which used to broadcast the speech Gaddafi.
Libyan officials accused the attack was deliberately intended to kill Gaddafi. But the television building was not damaged at all and Gaddafi was speaking from an unknown location.
"The door to peace open already," said Gaddafi in the Libyan national television broadcasting was quoted by the Associated Press on Saturday (30/04/2011). "You guys (NATO), the aggressor, we will negotiate with you. Please come France, Italy, United Kingdom, United States (U.S.), we will negotiate," he continued.
Gaddafi also questioned why the parties to the NATO attack Libya. He further reiterated that the people of Libya have the right to choose its political system, but under threat of NATO bombing.
"Why did you attack us and kill our children? Why did you destroy the infrastructure that we have," said Gaddafi.
While the Libyan opposition party leaders insist will not lower their weapons, including negotiating, when Gaddafi was not willing to resign from office.
But Gaddafi remains adamant that he would not fall from power which has lasted for four decades.
