BEIJING - Chinese police seized over 26 tons of tainted milk powder containing melamine. Milk powder is planned to be used as the manufacturing of ice cream mix.
Public Health Department said the Chongqing region was found disebuah milk ice cream manufacturers. The plant that buys milk containing melamine was reportedly were closed for the treatment of their equipment. Police also arrested three people thought to be involved in this case.
Melamine is mainly used as materials for surface coatings and penghalus wood. In addition, melamine is used also in the ceramic mixture material.

Deadly scandal involving the use of melamine in dairy products, occurred in the year 2008. At that time, the use of melamine in milk caused six deaths and caused serious health problem in approximately 300 other children.
As many as 21 people were arrested and prosecuted in this case. Two of them even put to death. While the company was declared bankrupt dairy maker investigation conducted following the Chinese authorities.
